Concert Bands Sandburg is home to three curricular concert bands that meet during the school day. If you want to join a band and play, we have two options. We also have private lesson instructors on all instruments that are available to teach during your band period.

Option 1 : No audition - Woodwind/Brass tell your guidance counselor you would like to be in band and sign up for Concert Band. Percussionist should sign up for Percussion Band Class. Option 2 : Woodwind/Brass Audition into Symphonic Band, our middle level ensemble as a Freshman. Email [email protected] for an audition time. Audition material will be available from your D135 Jr High Band Director as well as all 12 major scales from memory. Percussionists can audition for Advanced Percussion class. Marching BandSandburg is home of two marching bands. Competitive Marching Band performs at all parades, football games as well as a competiton season as we work on our competitive half time show.
Are you in a fall sport? We work with all coaches to make the best out of your time here at Sandburg. If a sport conflicts too much with the competitive schedule, we have 'Full Marching Band' available. Full Marching Band performs at all parades, football games and is eligible for large trips such as Hawaii. Schedule for summer and fall can be found on our Calendar Pages

More Co-curricular EnsemblesJazz Band(s) - We are home to 4 jazz ensembles. Auditions will be in October. Visit the Band room in October for Jazz Ensemble Audition Materials.
Pep Band - Signups will be available in October in the Band Room. Pit Orchestra (musicians that play for the musicical) - auditions will be posted in the band room in October
